To win some or to learn some!

This morning I was singing while biking to the train station. I am someone who constantly looks around to see if no one is in the neighborhood to hear me. But in some cases I'm singing up load while someone is passing me by and I didn't notice. Hmmm, maybe I'm getting into detail a little bit here.

Take your chance.

Well, what I wanted to say is that I sung a song of Jason Mraz. Not that I am a fan, but it's a nice song to sing and the most important thing is: I know some of the lyrics. One of the sentences is: 'I reckon, it's again my turn to win some or learn some.' And while I'm singing it for quite a long time I never realized that this phrase is actually a good point.

I imagine that Jason Mraz was trying to be cool to win a girls heart, but the beauty of her was actually too much for him to keep being cool. And because he wants to approach her, he realizes that now is the time for him to act to get close to her. He won't get a second chance.

Never loose!

'To win some or learn some' is the phrase that got me writing this post. And though the song is an ephemera for Jason and it's dandling away in the long line of easy listening music and small pop songs, I like mr. Mraz's attitude! Because the opposite of winning is of course loosing. But if you look at it that way, it's kind of sad.
And then I totally agree with Jason Mraz, that when you are not winning, you at least have learned something. Most of the time you even learned a lot. You just have to look at it that way and you'll never loose again in your life. You're always a winner!

PS. I know this last line is kind of pathetic, it reminds me of children competition games on television. None of the children have lost the game, everyone is a winner. I'm also truly sorry for this postscript by the way.
